CONCLUSION
I am thankful for my time in Health Education and Behavior because I learned the importance of informing people of practical ways to help them grow in their health skills and behaviors. Before I was part of this major, my focus was on nursing and the treatment side of health. However, moving forward, I want to be sure that my patients and the community I am serving is knowledgeable about ways to prevent adverse negative health outcomes, as well as the skills to combine this knowledge into positive behaviors.
I also learned the importance of a supportive community through my schooling but also from my extracurriculars. Having people in my life to lean on when times are hard and make joyful memories is so important no matter what stage of life I am in. Life can be hard but having people walk beside you during those hard times makes it better.
I will take the lessons, skills, and memories I made these past four years with me to nursing school this May. I was accepted to the University of North Florida’s accelerated BSN program. I am excited to start this new journey and be one step closer to achieving my career goals, however, I am just as excited to see what unpredictable and surprising events this journey brings.
