One of my favorite experiences was the simulation in the houses that they built in their health science building. The simulation was to test their nursing students on first aid. Being able to take part in these real-like experiences and getting to see how things would be in a real experience out in the field was amazing to experience. I also loved learning more about first aid and seeing how nursing would be. It really encouraged me to continue pursing a career in the nursing field because I loved the experience so much.

in-country discoveries

I also loved the disability class! Learning about the differences between the US and the UK. Getting to learn from other students and their experience with disability laws in their countries (many were from other countries like Poland, India, and China). I realized that we still have a lot of work to do with expelling stigmas surrounding different disabilities, and it is a universal issue. I got to see how the things I had been learning about in the classes for my major were being applied or altered in the UK.
